What Customers Say About Mr. Coffee ECM20 Steam Espresso Maker:

Gens VERY poor design all the way around and you have to fool with it so much to get it to work its irritating. THe tray below, under the coffe pot is ill fitting as well. I took care of mine by cleaning it often and to no avail.Linda L. I have this coffee maker. It is tough to screw the top tightly and after a few years of use it loses steam because you can't get the lid tight enough. It is also hard to turn the knob on the left because of the rounded design. ALSO, almost forgot, you cannot get enough water in it to fully froth the milk AND make your espresso most especially after the unit is a few years old.

I use it every morning and love it. So my husband looked on Amazon and found this great coffee maker and he ordered it for me. I searched for 3-4 weeks at different stores and they all said they carried the Mr. Coffee Steam Espresso Maker, but they never were sure when they would get this back in stock. The transactions went smooth and the coffee maker arrived in a timely fashion and arrived brand new like described.

His friend has one and after enjoying coffee there many times, he wanted a Mr. He is very pleased with it and recommends it highly. My grown grandson requested this specific item as a birthday gift from us. Coffee Steam Espresso Maker of his own.

Which is why I put up with the fact that the model has a limited lifetime - for me, it's about two years. This is the third ECM20 I've bought in the past eight years. Although with that one the handle didn't break until I'd used it for a year or so. This is the first one I had to order online, and, Amazon, the unit came with the brew handle broken and little pieces of it within the styrofoam packaging. So I gave you a 3 out of 5 stars:Pros: Best cup of coffee, ever. I could send it back, but it's not really worth the bother, it still works just like the one I've got now, I've used for about 3 years with that very same problem. I certainly hope you didn't send me a "refurbished" ECM20, or one that's been opened, and passed it off as "new".

I'm glad I've got the manual from my previous one, it has important instructions on cleaning and safety. I just don't load it up to expresso strength (usually 3/4 full). Shipped with broken handle & no manual (very much Amazon's fault) Fairly inexpensive, perhaps you get what you pay for in terms of quality & longevity.Cons: Build & materials quality is substandard (not Amazon's fault). I want a new one as the one I've got now I've had to patch with superglue to keep the steam from escaping. It makes the best coffee I've ever had, far better than the overpriced (and horrible) Starbuck's or any other restaurants. I keep buying them, because, again, the brew is superlative.

It's about 3 years old (maybe 4). Also, NO MANUAL. I've had 3 ECM20's, and they last about two years or longer (2 years if the heating element gives out early). First of all, I must say: I love the ECM20. I use it for regular coffee, not expresso or cappucino. Where's the manual.

Didn't get to try it out yet. But I think it will work just fine and it was a really good pirce.
